Today: Back to School, Last Week for Area Beaches and Swimming Pool
The new school season begins today for most kids in Crystal Lake and Cary.
Happy Monday, Aug. 26, Crystal Lake and Cary!
It's a big day for kids - and parents - as school resumes in Crystal Lake School District 47, Cary School District 26 and Community High School District 155 (remember, it's Late-Start Monday for high schoolers!).
The lazy days of summer are officially over.
It's back to the books, busy schedules and after-school activities. The good news is that Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 2, which means we already get a three-day weekend so we can slowly ease back into the daily routine.
Summer may not feel like it's entirely over, though, as hot and humid temperatures move in. You may want to hit the beach one last time before Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Dr., Crystal Lake closes Sept 2. (West Beach is already closed).
Labor Day also is the last day for swimming at Three Oaks Recreation Area on Route 14 in Crystal Lake, and at the Cary Pool, 255 Briargate Rd., Cary.
