About 90 percent of car seats are installed incorrectly, that’s why the Crystal Lake Police Department partnered with McHenry County Safe Kids and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department as well as the McHenry County Health Department, and Illinois Department of Transportation Division of Traffic Safety to host a free car seat safety check-up on 02/02/13 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Pauly
Toyota, 1035 South Rte 31 Crystal Lake Il, 60014.
These events are designed to increase awareness and proper use of car seats. When used correctly, car seats are one of the most important child safety tools.
Child Passenger Safety technicians will be available to educate and assist parents and caregivers with correct installation and use of car safety seats. Those at the event will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding child passenger safety recommendations.

No registration is necessary to participate, but parents are asked to bring the following to the event:
- Your child
- Your vehicle with nstruction manual
- Your child’s car seat or booster seat
- Car seat instructions
