Every Wednesday we profile one waiting child in hopes to find him or her the perfect Big Brother or Big Sister mentor. This week's waiting 'Little' is nine year old Eli, from McHenry.
Little Brother Eli is a somewhat quiet, but sweet boy. His mother says his strengths lie in his kindness and that he would do anything to help her with tasks she cannot do.
Eli would like a Big Brother who would take him to the movies, go mini-golfing, or just ride bikes on the Crystal Lake path. Eli doesn’t get a chance to play many sports, but says he would like to learn how to play baseball. He wants his future Big Brother to know that he is a nice guy!
When asked if he had three wishes for anything in the world, Eli said he would wish to make his mom not sick anymore, have everything he’s ever wanted, and to own his own car.
Eli has been waiting for a Big Brother for almost five months.
Eli, like all of our waiting Little Brothers, could use a positive male role model to spend time with. If you are interested in learning more about what it takes to be a Big Brother to Eli or any waiting child, please contact our office at 815-385-3855 or visit our website bbbsmchenry.org. Just a few hours, a couple times a month is all that it takes to make a positive difference in the life of a child.
