Environmental Defender's of McHenry County

Our Weekly Environmental Tip -

Hope is a true motivator, and with Spring upon us early this year our first blog with Patch is on Native Plants.

When planning your garden this year consider native plants.  Native plants provide a beautiful, hardy, drought resistant, low maintenance landscape while benefiting the environment.  Native plants do not require fertilizer, require fewer pesticides than lawns and less water than lawns.  They also promote biodiversity and stewardship of our natural heritage.  Check out The Wildflower Preservation and Propagation Committe at www.TheWPPC.org and search for "Native Plants" on the McHenry County Government website at www.mchenryil.gov to get more info.

Think Globally, Plant Locally and Go Native!

The word "Defender's" in the headline should not have an apostrophe. It's plural, not possessive.
