All of the nominees have gone that extra mile in their work duties, but only one could be chosen as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Year for 2012 is Roy Cipri of the Crystal Lake Park District Police Department. The nominating form for Roy said it all. “Roy is a dedicated servant of the Crystal Lake Park District. He operates with both internal and external customer service in mind. He knows the Park District Police Department is here to help in any and all situations and is always prepared to respond with whatever it takes." There were several examples of Roy's dedication, community involvement and professionalism detailed in the nomination form. These examples included: in addition to assisting other law enforcement agencies on 2 separate occasions in regards to incidents within the parks, Roy also took time away from his personal vacation to represent the Crystal Lake Park District as a volunteer at the C.O.P.S. Camp in East Troy, Wisconsin. This camp is a national organization that is aimed at helping surviving spouses and their children cope with the grief of the loss of a parent who was a police officer and died in the line of duty.
