William "Bill" J. Wierer Jr., 58, passed away Sept. 12, 2012 at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1954, in Elgin to William and Viola (Gehrke) Wierer. On Nov. 6, 1976, he married Vickie Lynn Mavis in Woodstock.
He worked for 34 years with General Kinematics. He loved fishing, gardening, and was a true White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie; his children, Lisa Wierer, William Wierer III; his siblings, Roland (Eileen) Wierer, Larry Wierer, Barb (the late Wayne) Nielsen, Diane (the late Keith) Johnson; and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Melvin Nielsen, and his grandparents, August and Bertha.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14 at Querhammer & Flagg Family Funeral Home, 500 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park.
