Let us know by commenting below which restaurant is your favorite for pancakes in the county.
It's Monday, which means it is time to kick of this week's Chowdown Showdown Challenge.
The weekly Chowdown Showdown is meant to be a fun and easy way for readers to pick and vote on their favorite places to get certain entrees in McHenry County. Each week, we will ask you to tell us your favorite place to get a bowl of chili or a burger or a cup of coffee.
This week we want to know, where is the best place in McHenry County to get panckes AND what are your favorite pancakes on that restaurant's menu.
You can let us know your favorite spot by commenting below. You will be able to submit your vote through 5 p.m. Tuesday.
From there, we will take the top finalists and post in an article first thing Wednesday morning. Then it will be time to vote again — this time for the Chowdown Showdown champion.
Voting will continue through 12 p.m. Friday, and we will announce the winner first thing Saturday morning.
This is all about participation so we hope you will chime in and check back.
So, without further ado, lets get the voting started. Patch readers, tell us by commenting below, where is the BEST place to get pancakes in McHenry County?

Just about anything from Richard Walkers. The Apple pancake is fantastic, as is the Dutch Baby. Their Belgian waffles and crepes are great too.

I agree Georgia's does have the best pancakes. Their pumpkin are my favorite but even the original taste awesome. They have a hint of vanilla in them. So good.

My favorite place to go is Benedict’s La Strata in Crystal Lake. I love the red velvet pancakes. After all the feedback on Georgia's, I'm going to make a point to check that out soon. I would like to get some pumpkin pancakes before winter is here!
