What's Happening This Weekend?
A 5k walk/run, clothing drive, dodgeball and the second annual Cary Cares for Canines.
Start your weekend off the right way and take the family out to see the latest Marvel comics installment, "The Avengers." Patch has an exclusive review of the film and a poll to vote for your favorite character.
After eating popcorn and candy, why not shed some of those calories and join the Cary Firefighters Association, as they host their second annual 5k run and walk beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 at Cary Junior High School.
Spring cleaning is in full effect and now you have the opportunity to get rid of some old clothes.
First United Methodist Church in Woodstock and SAGE Products in Cary will sponsor a clothing drive to benefit Turning Point, McHenry County’s only comprehensive domestic violence agency and shelter.
Clothing should be placed in large garbage bags and brought to either the parking lot at First United Methodist Church, 201 West South Street in Woodstock or the Parking lot At SAGE Products 3909 Three Oaks Rd in Cary
The drive will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5.
Root on your favorite team at the 2012 Dodgeball Tournament, which is hosted by the McHenry County Heatwave Girls Fastpitch Softball Team. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. at Cary Junior High School.
Any dog owners out there? Give your dog a treat and take them to the second annual Cary Cares for Canines, sponsored by the The Cary Lions Club from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday May 6 at Lions Park, 1180 Silver Lake Road in Cary.
The afternoon will include educational presentations and exhibit booths offering ways to better care for and love our 4-legged best friends. The event also offers dog activities and contests with prizes for the winning dogs.
