Krystal Thai in Crystal Lake grabbed this week’s Chowdown Showdown title for having the best Thai food in McHenry County.
It was a close race between the three finalists. Krystal Thai, 230 W. Virginia St. in Crystal Lake, received 36 percent of the votes while Green Peapod 1225 Greene Street in McHenry, followed with 33 percent of the vote. Wild Orchid Thai Bistro, 6000 Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake, was not far behind with 30 percent of the vote.es
