A Park Ridge woman - who owns a Bull Valley home where 91 animals in various states of neglect were rescued  - has been charged with animal cruelty, McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Virginia E. Dinucci, 54, of 1731 Pavilion Way, is charged with three counts of cruel treatment and 12 counts of owner’s duties, according to the sheriff's office. Her bond was set at $1,000.

Sheriff’s deputies went to 8617 Bull Run Trail in Bull Valley on October 29 for a well being check but found 91 animals, some dead, in the home.

McHenry County Animal Control officers removed 91 animals due to unsafe living conditions and inadequate care. A dead dog, cat and bird were discovered during the investigation and Animal Control took custody of 19 dogs, 11 cats, three rabbits and 55 birds, deputies said.

Dinucci relinquished the animals to Animal Control, which has evaluated the animals and provided medical treatment to some.

The dogs and cats are now available for adoption at the McHenry County Animal Control, located at 100 N. Virginia Street. The birds have been placed with bird sanctuaries, sheriff’s deputies said.
