Sheriff: Charges Filed Against Woman in Bull Valley Animal Abuse

McHenry County Sheriff's Department announces charges against Virginia E. Dinucci. The Park Ridge woman gave up 91 animals to McHenry County Animal Control. Some of the animals are now available for adoption.

A Park Ridge woman - who owns a Bull Valley home where 91 animals in various states of neglect were rescued  - has been charged with animal cruelty, McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Virginia E. Dinucci, 54, of 1731 Pavilion Way, is charged with three counts of cruel treatment and 12 counts of owner’s duties, according to the sheriff's office. Her bond was set at $1,000.

Sheriff’s deputies went to 8617 Bull Run Trail in Bull Valley on October 29 for a well being check but found 91 animals, some dead, in the home.

McHenry County Animal Control officers removed 91 animals due to unsafe living conditions and inadequate care. A dead dog, cat and bird were discovered during the investigation and Animal Control took custody of 19 dogs, 11 cats, three rabbits and 55 birds, deputies said.

Dinucci relinquished the animals to Animal Control, which has evaluated the animals and provided medical treatment to some.

The dogs and cats are now available for adoption at the McHenry County Animal Control, located at 100 N. Virginia Street. The birds have been placed with bird sanctuaries, sheriff’s deputies said.

“If you or anyone you know is in need of assistance in caring for their pets, we encourage you to contact the McHenry County Animal Control office and/or local pet adoption centers for guidance and advice,” McHenry County Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said.

This si not enough of a fine..I ask all Mchenry County residents to complain to Altdorff and Tyron to change the laws in Illinois and increase the fines for ani,mal cruelty. Another reason to vote out the current States Attorney. Ridiculous.

Really? $1000 bond for killing 3 animals and starving 88 others? This is a travesty. This is DISGUSTING! This woman should be in JAIL. How dare she . !Please lets ban together and change these laws. These are helpless living breathing creatures that depend on us for their well being. THIS MUST CHANGE!
