Guests can see four beautiful houses in the area, and help raise money benefitting the service league's programs.

The Service League of Crystal Lake is hosting its 38th Annual House Walk on Friday, Oct. 12.

The annual walk welcomes guests to four amazing homes in the area every year. Participants can choose from the 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. walk, or the 5 to 9 p.m. session, according to the Service League webpage.

Tickets are $20 if purchased in advanced, and $25 the day of the walk. Tickets can be purchased from service league members, or at participating businesses through Thursday, Oct. 11.

Local businesses selling the tickets include:

  • Around the Clock, 5011 Route 14, CL
  • Countryside Nursery, 5301 E. Route 176, CL
  • Dalzell Jewelers, 41 N. Williams St., CL
  • Mueller Interiors, 440 W. Virginia St., CL
  • 1776, 397 Virginia St., CL
  • Twisted Stem, 407 E. Route 176, CL
  • Wickham Interiors, 67 N. Williams St., CL
  • Yours & Meyn, 37 N. Williams St., CL

The annual housewalk highlights houses with exceptional design and flair. This year's "Dream Homes" lineup feature the design work of the homeowners themselves and local interior designers including Mueller Interiors, Wickham Interiors, Yours & Meyn, and Bountiful Homes and Lighting.

Guests can admire the homes' interior decor, or exterior landscaping. Everyone usually leaves with a new idea or two for her own home.

The Service League of Crystal Lake was founded in 1925, and is an organization of 45 women devoted to helping residents in the community, the webpage states.

The league provides clothing, household supplies, assistance with utility bills, emergency dental and medical care, holiday gifts for qualifying families and educational scholarships, the webpage states.
