Unfortunately between Facebook influences and "Chicago Style" voting, these Chowdowns are no longer a poll of Patch readers opinions. That is a shame.

AML I understand where you are coming from. I think the Patch has quite a bit of good info that is shared regularly. I think it is great to expose Patch to all of the many of the fans of Galloways, Jersey Mikes, A.S.S. & BUBS SUBS. I think quite a few new Likes to the different Patch Pages would be welcomed. Im sorry you feel that way :( Stop by BUBS SUBS & get a tasty sub. it will make you cheer up :)

A.S.S. is in last place and trailing Galloway's by 600 votes?
I have no issue with a business owner trying to promote his/her business but I would hope they aren't voting for themselves over and over again

Which is part of my issue.... I would bet the number of actual individuals voting is closer to 200 than 2100 (to this point). Just assures that I will not patronize any of the establishments that resort to stuffing the ballot box in any of these challanges. Bubs and Alg. Sub, the winners in the initial commenting period, will get my business.

I'm actually surprised that JMikes doesn't have more votes, they have a huge following and lets be honest they have a superior product, great customer service and do more for the community than the other 3 combined. I go to A.S.S once a month maybe but gotta hit Mike's up once a week. Facebook is huge and ya can't blame a store for having pationate & Supportive customers. No disservice here the right winner is JMikes and A.S.S should be 2nd. Not sure how Gallways even made the final four. Nonetheless, great representation in McHenry County for subs!!

I wouldnt think Judy or the "Galloway Gang" would stuff the ballot box. I think it might be that Galloways has almost 1000 fans on Facebook & many of them probably CLS students that regularly eat there during open campus lunch. Maybe they have stepped up & voted. The Galloways are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are very down to earth. Also,I like A.S.S. a lot. I think its usually better than Jersey Mikes. Jersey Mikes isnt bad though, I was very happy when they came to town. I thought it was a nice change of pace. I am also glad they give back to the community. BUBS SUBS is just getting started & once we are established we will give back to the community as often as possible. We at BUBS SUBS looks forward to planting roots & sticking around for a long time. For now we will give the community Real Flavor ;) We roast our own Turkey breast, Homemade Italian Bread, Homemade Italian Beef, Homemade Hot Giardiniera, Homemade Chipotle Mayo, Homemade Ranch, Homemade Marinara, Krakus Ham, IL Primo Genoa Salami, Bacon From Caputos Butcher, ALL Veggies Hand Picked from Joe Caputos DAILY! BUBS SUBS is seriously FRESH & delicious. I cant wait until more people spread the word & try BUBS SUBS!!

Is there a menu for BUB'S SUBS online anywhere?

There doesn't appear to be anything in these polls to stop you from voting more than once. As I said on the FB page, there may be some automated voting going on here.
Makes the whole thing kind of pointless...

If you would like to see a BUBS SUBS menu I have one on www.Facebook.com/BubsSubs you will find it in the wall photos on the 5th picture. I don't have a website yet. I will work on a website soon.
As far as the polls go at this point I hope BUBS SUBS does not win:) because I we all know that if BUBS SUBS gains from over 1000 vote defecit maybe someone voted more than once. lol.
Regardless of any outcome the real winners are all of the new people who have now learned that a new sub shop is in town "BUBS SUBS" & we don't mess around when it comes to CLEANLINESS, QUALITY, FLAVOR, REAL FRESHNESS & HOMEMADE FROM SCRATCH! Should it EVER be any other way?? I dont think so;) mmmmmmm

Reading through these post, it shows me that Bubs Subs not only has great customer fan base but also VERY respectful towards the competition. My vote is for them. Anyone can talk trash, that's the easy. Holding your pride higher and giving compliments is the way to go. Regardless of who "wins" I believe they all have won, you are a finalist!! .With the ways things are in the economy, any customer is a GREAT customer and if you have 1 or 2000, it's what got you to start your business. Great job to everyone!!!

I had the opportunity to eat at Bub's today. The food was great and the prices were extremely competitive with any of the chains.
It's very refreshing to see a young, passionate restaurant owner working his tail off to be different.
No disrespect to Maria but I challenge you to show me or any other person how Jersey Mikes is "higher quality"
Excellent work Dominick!

Congratulations on your busiest Friday. Polls and challenges don't mean a thing if the product isn't what's advertised. I tried a recent challenge winner and was disappointed in what was given to me. I was skeptical on how good it was going to be but you live up to your reviews and reputation.
Keep up the good work!

Jersey Mikes is OK, but come on its a freaking National Chain. No way can you compare Jersey Mikes to A.S.S. Jersey Mikes puts WAY to much lettuce on their subs and the menu selection doesn't even compare to A.S.S. The biggest difference is that Jersey Mikes sub is DOMINATED by it's bread/lettuce. A.S.S is dominated by its meats/veggies, the bread is just an add on.

Never tried Bubs Subs or Galloways so no opinion on those. If A.S.S has survived 15 years in a location that isn't near the greater Crystal Lake area then it must be fantastic. Jersey Mikes is corporate company with the financial backing to be put in strip malls near business parks and malls in every major town.
