Please Make it Stop! I Just Don't Care!

The mundane is everywhere but you can't avoid it.

Some things are interesting, few things are fascinating or funny while most things are dull. Those boring things can become repititious, which can make us want to scream.

You've gotten to the point where you'll duck into your garage because your neighbor is walking down his driveway and you can't tolerate another story about his golf game.

You get trapped at work by someone who will talk your ear off about the last restaraunt she visited — every course, every price, every bite — in excruciating detail.

How about your husband's fantasy football team? Don't you want to hear more about that?

I do it. We all do it. I find myself telling stories about my kids when I realize, "Oh my! What have I done? These people don't want to hear this!"

But we can't escape it. There's mundane, repetitive stories everywhere we go. The lady at the gas station is undoubtedly going to mention the weather. The guy on the train is going to tell you about his kid's soccer game. Traffic! Everyone talks about their commute as though they just drove through downtown Chicago during the St. Patrick's Day Parade on two flat tires.

What makes you scream "I DON'T CARE!!" everytime you see or hear it?

Great sense of humor. Remember Dr. Seuss. "those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind". So let it out!!!!!!!!!

I love your optimism, Steve! And that is one of my daughters favorite quotes.

You had to know this one was comin'......

People who write articles about what they don't care about.
But seriously, or is it humorously, great piece for a gray morning under a stormwatch.

Oops, did I just talk about the weather?????

My kid has a t shirt that reads, "I know how you feel, I just don't care."
Perhaps wearing something like that would help fend them off for you?
Just trying to help! Love the photo by the way, classic.

My will constantly with the details of how he shot that last goose. The cool fall breeze, the setting sun, the excrement falling from the sky. Save it Gene!!

It's hard. People want to be polite but we don't always have anything in common so you talk about the weather. But sometimes I feel like Steve Martin in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. "You choose things that are funny or mildly amusing or interesting. You're a miracle! Your stories have NONE of that. They're not even amusing ACCIDENTALLY!"

@LvillePatch when the show the stories about the contestants on American Idol.... Just freaking sing already!!

I agree that replays drive me nuts, especially when all I want to know is the result (especially on Top Chef, just tell me already!)

I don't mind hearing stories about people's kids, as long as they listen to my stories. This morning my Sofie said the sweetest thing.....

I do not care to hear about the following: Snooki (or anything Jersey Shore), American Idol, The Kardashians, Teen Mom 1, 2, 3 or whatever number they are on, the Bachelor, the Bachelorette, Real housewives of any state or county, Mob wives or any other wives unless it is my own, medical procedures, ailments, or any condition (unless it is contagious, then get away from me). Give me sports talk or any interesting story and you have my attention, but ask me first if I care or watch the show.
