Get your tail on the trail for the 13th Annual "Paws in the Park Dog Walk and Pet Fest."

The event, a favorite of four-legged friends everywhere, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept.9, at Veteran Acres Park, 431 Walkup Rd., Crystal Lake.

Cost of the walk is $25 for those who pre-register, and $30 on walk day.

All proceeds benefit Helping Paws Animal Shelter's mission to rescue, care for and find loving homes for stray and homeless dogs and cats in McHenry County. The shelter is based in Woodstock.

"Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 to help the homeless animals in McHenry County and the surrounding area," the event website states. 

After the walk, you can party with your pooch by enjoying canine demonstrations and games, fun photo booth, Pawcasso (pet painting), caricatures, vendors, raffles and more.
