Michele Locascio, 65, of Crystal Lake, Worked at Cary Village Hall

Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 471 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

 

 

Michele Locascio, 65, of Crystal Lake died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock.

She was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Chicago to Frederick and Bernice (Walsh) Cook. In August 1978, she married Jay Locascio, he preceded her in death in 2007. 

She worked as a secretary in the building department of the Cary Village Hall for more than 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, shopping, playing cards, and in her younger years enjoyed dancing with her husband Jay. She loved animals and volunteered at Pet Smart. 

She is survived by her children; Jason (Lisa) Zakrzewski, Tracey (Cory) Scalise, Denise (Tom) Gschwind, Tina (Joe) Gawerecki, Jay (Jenny) Locascio, Nick (Leslie) Locascio, grandchildren; Katie, Julie, Crystal, Tony, Aeva, Christopher, Justin, Cevin, Zachary, Joseph, Brandon, Abigail, Anthony, Isabella, two great-grandchildren, brother Don (the late Terry) Cook, sisters; Carole (Mike) Brogan and Nancy Cook and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Bob Cook.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 471 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

Cremation rites to be accorded.
