Mercy Asks Judge to Review its Application for Hospital in Crystal Lake
Mercy takes first steps in appeal process in effort to build a hospital in Crystal Lake.
Mercy Health System has asked an administrative law judge to review the Illinois Health and Facilities and Service Review Board's rejection of its proposed 70-bed hospital for Crystal Lake, the Northwest Herald reports.
Mercy is appealing the state board's denial of its Certificate of Needs application to construct a $115 million hospital at the corner of Route 31 and Three Oaks Road, the Herald article states. While the state denied Mercy's plans, it approved Centegra's request to build a hospital in Huntley.
The hearing for Mercy has been scheduled for Oct. 25 in Springfield, the story states.
