McHenry County Sheriff Seizes $34,000 Worth of Marijuana
Sheriff's office announced the arrest on Wednesday of three Lake County men stemming from a pot bust operation at the corner of Route 120 and Chapel Hill Road in McHenry.

McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren announced Thursday, Oct. 18, the arrest of three Lake County residents for multiple drug charges.
The sheriff's Intelligence Led Policing Unit and Narcotics Unit conducted a surveillance near Chapel Hill and Route 120 near McHenry on Oct. 16, after receiving a tip of a potential narcotics transaction, Nygren said in a press release.
During the investigation, officers saw two vehicles meet up and observed one of car's occupants carrying a bag with marijuana in it, Nygren said. All parties were arrested without incident.
Deputies recovered about nine pounds of marijuana (4,510 grams) from one of the vehicles, police said. Deputies also recovered drug paraphernalia and seized a 2006 Infiniti, Nygren said.
Sheriff Nygren estimates the street value of the pot bust at $34,000.00.
ARRESTED:
Max Barraza, 22, 330 S. Litchfield Dr., Round Lake, was charged with one count of unlawful delivery of cannabis, one count possession of cannabis, and one count unlawful calculated criminal cannabis conspiracy, Nygren said.
Alexander De Los Santos, 39, 521 North Pine St., Waukegan, was charged with one count of unlawful calculated criminal cannabis conspiracy, one count unlawful delivery of cannabis, and one count of unlawful possession of cannabis.
Michelle B. Luzar, 26, 25962 W. Marquette Dr., Ingleside, was charged with one count of unlawful delivery of cannabis, one count unlawful possession of cannabis, one count unlawful calculated criminal cannabis conspiracy, and one count unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

leave our meds alone! Illinois just legalize it and stop this madness, NO ONE DIES on POT! NO ONE! Our Jail system is full of non violent offenders, Pot should be legal if cigarettes are Legal, Cigarettes KILL, & BOOZE KILLS! Why are they legal? Set Them free! Do it now!

Law enforcement needs to re-direct its focus on crime...to those that are REAL crimes.
I was in Federal Prison for 5 years for a marijuana offense. No, it was not for simple possession. I was arrested aboard a Lockheed PV2 in Marianna, Florida...charged and convicted for conspiracy to import and distribute 12,000 pounds of marijuana.
At the time, I really had no idea what I had gotten myself into...mine was an offense involving pot...the thought never occurred to me that I may actually spend years in prison for that 'indiscretion.'
As those years rolled by, what I did see were armed bank robbers, coming and going...while I still sat there for marijuana. Most of the bank robbers only spent 17 to 24 months. But, I and my fellow 'drug offenders,'...we stayed for YEARS.
I wrote about the escapades that led to my incarceration.
I admit, I had a great time.
No one was injured, no one was killed, firearms were not involved...there were no victims.
We were Americans...doing what Americans do best...living free.
Truly, it is time for this lunacy to end...it never should have begun.

I have never smoked pot in my life...nor do I ever care to.
I read about this book in numerous Huffington Post comments. Thought I would read it because I know nothing about marijuana or the people involved with it. I am ecstatic that I did. Funny, Funny, Funny!!!
The chapters are like short stories. Stories about unloading boats with helicopters, close encounters with law enforcement, traveling through the jungles of South America. The chapter about the author's first time smoking marijuana made me feel like I was with him...coughing.
All of the characters were just a group of loveable, nice guys and girls. Not what I had been raised to believe...hysterical maniacs high on pot bent on death and mayhem. They were nothing like that.
If you have ever read any of David Sedaris' books, and like them...you will love Shoulda Robbed a Bank.
And the crazy things happening reminded me of Holden Caufield in 'Catcher in the Rye' and the way he staggered through life.
The way the words are put together are like nothing I have ever heard. I am sure I will use many of the sayings found in this book just to dazzle my friends. A terrific read. I love this book.

yeah its waste of tax dollars to go after small amounts of grass like that just tax it pay off the deficit legalize it medically on a federal level and just be done with it. There is a fuel that can be produced from the oil of hemp seeds thats the main reason they wont legalize it it would crush oil companies and big oil companys and our federal government are the same thing! Pharmaceutical companies barley in second place. Why do you think the FDA approves all these drugs that hurt and kill people? They approve a drug it gets used for a few years here and then another year goes by and every ten minutes theres a commercial on from a national law firm telling you you can get money if you used that drug! The FDA knows these drugs are harmful when they approve them but they still approve all this crap because they get a big cut of the profits and when your talking about billions and billions in sales Uncle Sam doesn't care if it causes liver damage or heart risks etc and its the same with big oil. Remember you country loves you and your government hates your guts with everything they have!

But, once it's legal, I will grow my own...unless the 'store bought' variety is mo better.

I was hit in the left eye with a rock when I was 9 years old...at times, the pain is blinding...
Marijuana has saved my life...I am now 66 years old..
I smoke about once a week... I watch an old cowboy movie and kick back...
I am smoking the proverbial 'one hit weed'...
I do not know how this stuff is grown, I only know that I thank God that people know how to grow it.
The 'government' can kiss my sweaty ass...I am a FREE American...
