Man Survives Being Swallowed by Sinkhole on Illinois Golf Course
The man was on the 14th fairway at the Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Illinois when the earth below him gave way and sent him 18 feet deep into the earth, the Belleville News Democrat reports.
A Missouri man is lucky to be alive after being swallowed by a sinkhole as he stood on the 14th fairway at a golf course in southwestern Illinois Friday, the Belleville News Democrat reports.
Mark Mihal was reportedly rescued by the men he was golfing with after they lowered a rope into the 18 foot hole he fell down to hoist him up, the Belleville News Democrat reports, and suffered a shoulder injury.
