The folks at Country Donuts in Crystal Lake wanted to show their thanks to Crystal Lake Police Chief David Linder.
Linder retired on Monday, Dec. 31, from the police force after 32 years of service to the community.
To demonstrate their appreciation for the city's top cop, Country Donuts set up an 18-inch tall Santa, dressed as a policeman and holding a donut, with the sign, "Thanks Chief Linder for 32 great years."
Country Donuts is located at 181 S. Route 14.
