Holy Cross Lutheran Church Will Celebrate 100 years
Holy Cross Lutheran Church has a whole year of events planned to celebrate their 100th year anniversary in 2011.
A year of events are planned to build up to the 100th year anniversary in September of 2011.
The kickoff began in September with a special visit from the grandchildren of the church's first pastor and a history lesson about 1911 by Rev. William Metzger.
From the anniversary committee of the church, upcoming events this month include a special showing of church homes, where services were conducted from 1911 to 1920.
This display will be visible at the entryway of the church.
There is a full anniversary calendar available after each service, for $10.00 and will include past and present photos.
The yearlong series will conclude with a banquet on Sept. 11, 2011.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church is composed of about 250 families in Cary and other northwest suburbs and is a member congregation of the Lutheran church Missouri Synod, which has about 2.5 million baptized members.
