It's been asked a million times: If you were on a deserted island, what album would you want with you? My first response is to have a box set so maybe I'd have enough to make a raft.

But my real answer is: The Beatles' Abbey Road.

I stumbled upon my mom's Abbey Road album when I was in grade school, played it and haven't stopped listening to it.

In high school it was in my tape deck, in college it was in my CD player and now it's on my iPhone. I just listened to the entire thing yesterday.

And because The Beatles won't be performing any time soon, or ever, us Abbey Road lovers will have to take American English, who'll be performing Saturday night at the Raue Center for the Arts.

The band will be performing The Beatles' Abbey Road in its entirety Saturday. I caught this show a few years ago and absolutely loved it. From "Get Back" to "Something" to "Here Comes the Sun" to, in my opinion, the best collection of merging songs ever recorded — "Because" to "The End," or will they play "Her Majesty" to end the show?

Abbey Road was the last recorded studio album for The Beatles. People will say Let it Be was their last, but real fans know Let it Be was just released after Abbey Road. The album was released in the fall of 1969, just before the Fab Four went their separate ways.

A lot of times, when I'm watching American Idol or The Voice, I'll hear one of their singers try to perform one of my favorite songs and I'll cringe. But American English does Abbey Road justice. This isn't a bunch of guys who get together every so often to play music; they take their Beatles music seriously.
