kind of like a Tea Party event, except for the bags of urine and feces thrown at the police. and stabbing police officers...and the ridiculous 'MIC CHECK, MIC CHECK'.. well, i do see an American flag in these pictures here. there are similarities.

Which picture shows the officer being stabbed? And those urine bags? And why isn't the liberal mainstream media reporting these outrages?

Nightcrawler, are you serious? yes, there were bags and bottles filled with urine and feces being thrown at the police.. yes, an officer got stabbed.. 4 others were injured.

you answered your own question. you don't get the truth, at least 'all' the truth from the mainstream media. period. i personally don't watch ANY local news. none. zip. nada.. it's worthless when it comes to fact finding.

Hey dan - please provide a link to something that reports "bags and bottles filled with urine and feces being thrown at police."

Dan, really? The Tea Party people are well-behaved, bathe on a regular basis, and clean up after themselves. This NATO protest is NOTHING like a Tea Party event.

Oh, wait, were you making a joke? Maybe next time try to be funny.

WHAT A WASTE OF THEIR TIME...NATO ??
AMERICA IS BEING INVADED BY ILLEGALS FROM MEXICO---SOUTH AMERICA---FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD..

HOW COME THEY ARE NOT IN FRONT OF THE WHITE HOUSE PROTESTING POOR BORDER SECURITY ?? I WOULD GO AND JOIN THEM...

THEY SHOULD BE CAMPING AROUND THE WHITE HOUSE DEMANDING AN END TO THE JOB OUTSOURCING TO CHINA AND TO OTHER FOREIGN COUNTRIES..
STOP THE IMPORT OF FOREIGN WORKERS--OR--H--1 VISAS...

WE HAVE OVER 50 MILLION UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS---UNDEREMPLOYED---HOMELESS---ON WELFARE, WITH MILLIONS OF UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS , WHY IS AMERICA STILL ALLOWING MORE IMMIGRANTS IN OUR COUNTRY ???
THEY SHOULD BE PROTESTING THOSE THINGS AND MORE PEOPLE WOULD JOIN THEM ....
BUT PROTESTING NATO ?? WHO CARES...OBAMA ALREADY SAID THAT HE WILL BRING U.S. TROOPS HOMES..

good point, Jose.

why didn't 'Occupy' camp outside the White House, even when they know that Obama is as big on cronyism as anybody else???

because they get their spending money from leftist groups like Adbusters and people like George Soros; they don't want to make things difficult for Obama.

4 Police Officers were treated for injuries. From the Sun Times:
"In addition, around 1 p.m., police detained seven men and women, all wearing black, at the Grant Park rally. A police sergeant said the protesters were carrying rocks, cans of spray paint, pry bars, urine-filled bottles"

The Officer stabbed in leg story was easy to find. One link is below. I also saw a news report with footage regarding the rocks thrown at the officers. There was an ABC Chicago TV report with footage of the rock which almost hit the Chicago Police Chief. He has kept it a reminder.

Please re-read dan's posts, and my responses. Then show me where anyone reported those urine/feces bags being thrown at the police. And which picture shows the officer being stabbed.

I'm not questioning that 4 officers received injuries, one with a stab wound to the leg. I do question the sensationalistic headlines – e.g. "Four Cops Injured, One Stabbed in Melee" – above stories that provide no further details. Near as I can tell, the entire story is based on a single quote from Garry McCarthy, who I like. And who also said: "The news isn't what's happened," McCarthy said. "The news is what has not happened. This is really a non-event. This is what's supposed to happen in America."

what? sensationalistic headlines say 4 cops injured, one stabbed in melee? when in fact it was 4 cops injured, one stabbed in melee?

how is that sensationalism? looks pretty much straight forward to me. it doesn't say "gravely injured" or "massive melee", etc.

oh. you need to see a picture of the cop who got stabbed in the leg before you believe what everybody else is saying.

did you know that several people were arrested on domestic terrorism charges, as they were foiled in their attempts to make homemade bombs? sorry, no pictures for you, missy.

Hey dan - Not much of a reader, are you? I questioned the headlines because the story provides no further details - and there still aren't any, several days later. That's a great example of "if it bleeds, it leads" - in other words, sensationalism.

And as I made quite clear, I don't need a picture to "believe what everybody else is saying." I was referring to your post, which was in response to a gallery of pictures. None of which showed an officer being stabbed.

I've been to a couple of tea party protests, the only violence I witnessed was a car horn going off. The horn was probably a racist code message.

It's like going to a family picnic, only without the annoying relatives. And they clean up after themselves. But, you're right, that horn was probably some sort of secret code. And it's worse yet if it came from a foreign car.

McCloud, did you see where the Tea Party got some liberal media attention a couple weeks ago for an incident of vandalism? yeah. I might be wrong about the politician, but i think some Tea Party members put up some opponent campaign signs up in Dick Lugar's farm property.. oh, the scandal! Funny how the media tried to play it up as being a god awful thing to do.. granted, it was wrong. but not necessarily harmful. And it was done to a fellow 'R'.

Compare and contrast to the Occupy movement. Some of their people got busted last month for planning on blowing up a bridge, during rush hour, in Ohio. The media hid the fact that they identified themselves on Facebook as being OWS members.

Now in Chicago, more Occupiers were arrested while preparing homemade bombs. The media called them 'domestic terrorist suspects', but did not identify them as being OWS members...it took someone other than the msm to find out that little tidbit.

Abigail

10:17 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Dan, the reason the media won't identify them as OWS is because Obama, Pelosi, etc., praised them profusely when the OWS first started. Now they don't want people to realize these are the same OWS that the libs thought were so wonderful and patriotic.

Does anybody know what Occupy movement is protesting? If they are against the rich fat cats, they could start with Obama, Tarp 1 - sitting next to Bush just before the election and nudging his arm to sign, Tarp 2 - all by himself, auto bailout, Solyndra. All money going to fat cats. Yet they never talk of Obama.

From the pictures I've seen, the Teabaggers are all far too obese to even walk very far, much less commit any acts of violence. They just sit in their folding chairs with their misspelled signs, dropping bits of grease on their size XXXL American patriot tshirts. Whoo, hoo.

Sandra Sims might not be very bright, but she has a wonderful imagination.

Sandra, did you happen to see the protests up in Madison last year? You think that 'Teabaggers' are obese?? what about those public union employees that were up there? i realize that there are a lot of dairy farms in Wisconsin, but there were more heffers at the Capitol rotunda in Madison than any other farm in Wisconsin.. why are they so fat? because they eat from the gov't teat. The money never runs out...oh. Until Scott Walker, an adult, came to town.

Ms. Sandra Sims - your offensive terms , gross generalizations and insults do nothing to futher a civil debate. Your post does much to make you seem like a person with whom I certainly wouldn't want to hang. Perhaps your mean spirited post is not reflection of your true personality.

Funny, somehow it didn't seem much like a civil debate. It seemed more like a bunch of rightwingers making snotty comments about "liberal" protesters. Just thought I would put my two cents in re: rightwing protesters. And Brad, really, you can't spell my name when it's right in front of you? You must have been the one making all those teabagger signs.....

Sandra - you can either choose to raise the level of discourse or you can opt for insulting terms and drag the level of debate into the gutter. I see you have once again opted for the latter. That is a shame. Of course, many will agree the debate is not always civil. You can simply read your last two posts to understand why. I suspect you can do far better but simply choose not to, or perhaps just can't help yourself.
