Former Huntley Police Chief Richard Rossi died Thursday surrounded by his family at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, according to his obituary.
He served as Huntley's police chief from 1983 to 1995 and most recently served as the transportation director for District 158, according to the Daily Herald. He is remembered fondly as always having a smile on his face, his friendliness and energy, according to the article.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church St. in Huntley, and will continue at 10 a.m. on Tuesday until funeral services start at 11 a.m. at the church, according to Rossi's obituary.
