Former Cary Man Killed in Arizona
Adam Moring, 29, had just moved to Phoenix, Ariz., to start a new life, multiple media sources are reporting.
Adam Moring, 29, formerly of Cary, was killed by his girlfriend's ex-husband on Thursday, Oct. 11, the Daily Herald reports.
Moring is the son of Jo Ann Hedges of Cary and John Moring of Round Lake, and moved to Phoenix on Aug. 28, to start a new life with his girlfriend, the Daily Herald article stated.
But last week, the girlfriend's ex-husband, 29-year-old David Walker, of Chicago, boarded a plane and flew to Arizona and arrived at the couple's new home at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, a story by CBS 2 Chicago said.
Police said Walker entered through the back door, grabbed a baseball bat from the garage and beat Moring in the head while he was sleeping, the CBS story said.
Walker also hit his ex-wife, and then forced her and their two children into a car and drove to Tempe. Police said he ran away and was found in a hotel, arrested and charged with murder and other charges, the CBS article stated. Video coverage of the story with photographs of the victim and accused killer are posted on CBS 2 Chicago.
The family is seeking assistance in flying their son's body home and with funeral costs. Donations can be made to Adam's Fund at Wells Fargeo Bank through a PayPal account, firstname.lastname@example.org, the Daily Herald article stated.
