Where is the best place to get a salad in McHenry County?
In the spirit of starting the year out right, this week’s Chowdown Showdown will take a rare but healthy step forward.
In 2011, we sought out the best burger joint, Italian food restaurant and the places with the most delicious Chinese cuisine in McHenry County.
With many starting up the New Year on a new diet, this week we want to hear where is the best place in McHenry County to get a salad.

We will post a poll first thing Wednesday with the restaurants that receive the most votes (comments) as our finalists. Voting for the finalists will continue through noon Friday. We will announce the Chowdown Showdown salad champion in an article first thing Saturday.

Ok, I will go with Mimi's Cafe on Randall Road. Not sure that's still in McHenry County but they do have Great Salads.

I say Tracks! (that was for you, Savannah) Actually, I say Benedict's in Crystal Lake. It's the only place I've ever finished a salad, and by the looks of me I could use a few more.
