Centegra Hospital-Huntley Gets State Approval
Hospital to be built at Huntley campus on Haligus and Algonquin Roads.
It’s a happy day in Huntley as officials celebrate a state health board’s decision to grant Centegra Health System permission to build a hospital in Huntley.
The 6-3 vote came Tuesday morning during a Illinois Health Facilities Services and Review Board meeting. Centegra filed a request to build a 128-bed hospital on its current Huntley campus, at Haligus and Reed Roads, back in December 2010. Last year, the plan was rejected twice. But the commission approved the plan Tuesday.
Centegra Hospital-Huntley is only the second new hospital to be approved in the state of Illinois in the past 30 years, according to a Centegra release. It is anticipated that Centegra Hospital-Huntley will treat its first patients in 2016, create 800 construction jobs and employ 1,100 area residents, the release stated.

Our town is growing, our town is aging, it is now underserved by the medical community, this new hospital will make a big impact in the local residents it will serve. This is great news!!! Our residents should be celebrating in the streets!!

i have supported a hospital of sorts in our area since i moved to L.I.T.H. in 1997.
to build it next to my sub-divison....is a-ok with me. the location is pretty good too.
* also; to my neighbors
we need a grocery store too but NOT a strip mall.
widen route 47 all the way into Woodstock...Lake Geneva is approx 30 miles north.
BIG QUESTION...will our taxes remain as is? or can we get some tax relief?
thats when we dance in the street.

This is wonderful news as it will provide needed employment in the immediate area for the building trades. Later there will be so many varied types of positions in the hospital including volunteer jobs! It is close to home! It will bring more businesses as companies, restaurants, investors, etc. will realize that this area is HOT! Perhaps our houses will increase in value since we will border the hospital? Perhaps our taxes will eventually go down? Perhaps resale, empty, and foreclosed houses will become desirable? Think of all the businesses which will ensue out of the hospital business world such as medical supply companies? Huntley is terrific and we owe so much to our mayor, trustees, and residents who fought for this hospital. Sherman: eat your heart out! Go Centegra!

Why do you folks think your property will increase? Your taxes go down? The jobs are abundant!!!! Or perhaps you think the people living near NIMCI are rolling in the assets and pay minimal taxes and omg the jobs available at that hospital... get real... who's been brain washing you?

Don't get me wrong a hospital closer to you is great. Much better than a satelite, but that's all it is.

It's not even high level care. If you're really sick you'll get sent out to hospitals that can really handle it. Silly to think it will create jobs surrounding it. It's a fancy outpatient clinic. Nothing more.
