Cary Tow Companies to Provide Free Rides Home for New Year Eve's
Cary residents can take advantage of free rides homes within village limits.
The Cary Police Department has partnered with two local towing companies to provide free rides home on New Year’s Eve for drivers who find they may have had a few too many drinks.
Pat Blank of Whitey’s Towing, 520 Cary-Algonquin Road, Cary and Ken McCoy of A-Plus Towing, 40 Detroit Street, Cary have both agreed to provide a free ride home and a free tow for the driver’s vehicle if they’ve had too much to drink to drive.
Both companies will provide the free service to anyone from within the Village limits of Cary to their home, within a 5 mile radius.
The free service will be provided between the hours of 10 p.m. Dec. 31 until 4 a.m. Jan. 1.
“This is a great service that these companies are providing, helping to keep our residents as well as our roadways safe” said Cary Police Chief Steven Casstevens.
“This holiday period is notorious for deadly crashes involving impaired drivers and we want to do whatever we can to prevent tragic incidents like those. We applaud these companies for providing this service. It’s a great partnership” Chief Casstevens added.
“While we continue to encourage people to have a designated driver, this program goes one step further” Casstevens said.
A-Plus Towing can be contacted at 847-639-2655 and Whitey’s Towing can be contacted at 847-639-2750.
