Cary’s Annual Hydrant Flushing Program Set to Begin May 7
There are more than 1,000 hydrants in Cary.
The village’s annual hydrant flushing program is expected to take approximately two weeks to finish, weather permitting.
Hydrants located south of Route 14 will be flushed first. Flushing the hydrants will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Before the flushing program begins, informational signs will be posted throughout the area where the program is being implemented. During the process of flushing, water that comes out of your tap may appear rust-colored.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions when doing laundry and let the water run for several minutes until it becomes clear.
