Cary-Grove Class of 2012 Bids Farewell
Cary-Grove honors senior class of 433 students during the commencement program on Saturday.
Cary-Grove High School celebrated the success of the Class of 2012 on Saturday during the school’s annual commencement program.
Inclement weather forced school officials to move the graduation ceremony indoors to the Cary-Grove gymnasium.
But the rain and clouds failed to dampen the students’ spirits as they hugged and high-fived one another while waiting for the processional to begin.
“My four years here have been amazing and fun,” senior Katharine May said.
The Class of 2012 produced 433 graduates.
The commencement ceremony included the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” processional, musical performances by the Cary-Grove Wind Ensemble and A Cappella Singers, and presentations by students, administrators and board members.
Valedictorian Kreena Patel and salutatorian Alex Whitaker spoke words of encouragement to their classmates.
Cary-Grove Principal Jay Sargeant formally presented the class to the audience of parents, teachers and relatives.
Members of the District 155 Board presented the diplomas.
In all, Community High School District 155 graduated 1,715 students on Saturday.
