Colonel Palmer House Hosts 'Tribute to WWII History'

The Crystal Lake Park District is offering yet another FREE Summer Sunday at Colonel Palmer House.

On Sunday, July 15, join us from 1 to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the beautiful historic Colonel Palmer house, 660 East Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176) in Crystal Lake.

This month's theme is World War II; The Homefront to the Frontlines.

Young men gone to war, rationing, oil and scrap metal drives, victory gardens, swing music, Hollywood and Rosie the Riveter during the WWII-era will be the topic of this Summer Sunday.

Members of various re-enactor groups will bring this time in our history to life on the lawn of the historic Colonel Palmer House.

From the war front to the home front; great sacrifice by residents of our community was a way of life during the early 1940's.

Admission is free and open to all ages. Come enjoy a Summer Sunday at Colonel Palmer House. For further information contact Sandy Price at (815) 477-5873, or via email sprice@crystallakeparks.org.
