Due to low water levels at Veteran Acres Pond, The Annual Crystal Lake Nature Center and Crystal Lake Anglers Family Fishing Derby has been moved to West Beach. The Family Fishing Derby is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 9-11:30 am.  West Beach is located at 2330 Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake.  Admission is free, but please register in advance at the Crystal Lake Park District, www.crystallakeparks.org for program code #9602-1.  The fishing derby will be held rain or shine, so dress for the weather.

Program highlights include:

• Fishing poles, tackle and bait provided 
• Free fishing lessons and hands-on fishing demos 
• Prizes 
• Anyone over the age of 16 must have a current Illinois Fishing License 
• Catch and Release only
