Annual Fall Leaf Pick-Up Program Begins Monday, October 4, 2010
The City of Crystal Lake will begin their Annual Fall Leaf Pick-Up Program on Monday, October 4, 2010 and will continue the program through Wednesday, December 1, 2010 or as weather permits.
To have city workers collect leaves, residents need to do the following:
1. Put the leaves in a biodegradable paper bag (leaves in any other type of container including plastic bags, garbage cans or boxes will not be accepted.)
2. Place the bags of leaves curbside in front of the home along the public street by 7am each Monday morning.
3. Crews will collect leaves at least once a week, however they do not follow the garbage collection to prevent congestion.
4. Crews cannot accept any other yard materials other than leaves. Materials such as grass clippings, branches or other debris will not be accepted.
Residents are also welcome to drop off their own leaves at the Brush Drop-Off site located at the Wastewater Treatment Plan No. 2 at Dartmoor Drive and Coventry Lane on the first and third Saturday of October and November from 8am to 1pm.
For more information or questions regarding the program, please call the Crystal Lake Public Works Department at (815) 356-3614.
